About me
Hi, I'm Rob, a professional gigging musician and passionate music teacher.

Brought up an a diet of Queen, Brian May single handedly inspired me to ask for a guitar for my 12th birthday. I vividly remember the feeling of learning my first three chords and thinking "Hey! That actually sounds a bit like the song."

Jamming with mates in a garage was how I spent most of my time growing up and my gigging career began at just 16. Playing guitar and keys at social clubs in the North-West for an over ambitious function band was a terrifying way to cut my teeth as a musician. We used to say "if you get someone to look up from their newspaper then you're doing well."

I went on to study music up to degree level at the Academy of contemporary music in Guildford. Learning from some of the best musicians in the industry. I was taught by guitarists with credits such as: Queen, Paul Rogers, Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, Paul Young, Mike and the mechanics. Safe to say some of the best tuition and industry knowledge I could get.

Graduating with guitar performance HND and music business BAhons I pursued my music career, making rent playing gigs anywhere and everywhere. I developed my musicianship skills, playing bigger and better gigs and now run several bands playing upwards of 80 gigs a year.

I think it is important to have live, up-to-date experience when teaching my students. Learning the instrument and the musicianship skills side by side is extremely important.

As well as teaching from my home studio in Prestwich I also offer home visits and work out of The school of rock Lancashire (www.facebook.com/SchoolOfRockLancashire).
